May 13, 1800 hrs. - Thursday SAG/Radio Meeting On Again, Shortage of SAG Boxes
May 15, 0900 hrs. - Roster Update (RS4)
Set up will be on Friday at 1730 hrs this year at Vet's Memorial.
Net Control set up usually occurs Friday evening, depending on our ability to access the room. Check back for updated set up information.
The DC no longer has a SAG bus sweeping the course from Lunch back to S/F.
May 13 1800 hrs: The Thursday SAG/Radio meeting is on again but only maps and t-shirts will be available. Also, there will only be 4 sag boxes available day of so SAGs are advised to at least bring a floor pump. Tubes, patch kit, and tools would be a plus. It is forecast to be hot so water carrying capacity would also be appreciated.
Thursday May 14 at 1900 hrs. The pre-ride meeting will again be held at the Parking Lot behind City Hall, at the corner of Russell Blvd. and B Streets, about seven blocks south of the old meeting location on B Street. Directions to City Hall can be found HERE. We will be meeting at the east end of the parking lot, closest to A Street.
Talk-in on 144.430 simplex. SAG boxes, info packets (shirts, maps, freq plan), 900 radios, and aprs trackers should be available. Any op not able to make it can make other arrangements or pick up their stuff at net control on event day.
(1 March 2009) Course change: Monticello Dam and Nicolini Winery will be rolled into a rest stop at Moscowite Corners
Expect delays of up to 20 minutes at the junction of Hwy 20/Hwy 16 due to construction.
Due to the PAVE/PAWS radar issue, there will likely be some significant changes to the radio plan this year. Check back for updates, and be sure to carefully review the radio plan document when you receive it.
Net Control will be geared towards having enough ops to handle simultaneously 2-4 channels, minimizing the time needed for field units to get a response.
APRS will be used again this year. A separate packet frequency with special event digipeaters located on the course and in the plane will be used. We do not use the national 144.390 frequency due to coverage and congestion issues. Net Control will be equipped to track APRS equipped units.
This is the roster and shifts as the positions are being filled.
Due to the high number of returning ops, an (*) will denote those that have
confirmed for this year.
