YARS 8 January 2013 Meeting

Attending:

Officers: President Gary Matteson WA6TQJ, Vice-President Rick Littlefield N6KLB, 
and Treasurer Ben Norman WA6NIK.

Members: Kevin Grayson W6JKG, Shayne Hughes N6SPE, Bill Ragsdale K6KW, Robert 
Schulz KC6UDS, Peter Millar KQ6ZL, Marion Millar K6MZ, and

Visitors: Steve Sparks KC6MHT, Easan Katir KJ6NVZ, and Garry Pratt KA6VBR.

Meeting opened at 1930 hrs. by President Gary Matteson WA6TQJ, with self-introduction
all around.  

Old Business:

President Gary Matteson WA6TQJ, Dave Nishikawa KC6YFG, and Ben Norman WA6NIK went to 
the bank and put Gary’s and Dave’s names on the bank account and gave the bank an 
updated copy of the YARS bylaws.

President Gary Matteson WA6TQJ reports that there is no news on Mt Vaca repeater.

President Gary Matteson WA6TQJ reports that work is ongoing for a new antenna on the 
UCDARC repeater.  Removal of a large microwave dish is required.  The link to 
Sacramento is not up yet because the Sacramento end isn’t done.

New Business:

Robert Schulz KC6UDS reports that Livestrong Classic will be back in Davis on Field Day 
Sunday.  K6JRB will be looking for volunteers.

Robert Schulz KC6UDS reports that Steve Dold has been able to obtain additional, newer 
parts for the “console system.”  Some misc. parts may need to be purchased to put it 
all together.

Program:

Bill Ragsdale K6KN and Shayne Hughes N6SPE gave a program on ham radio related apps 
for iPhone/iPad and Android.

December 2012 meeting minutes were approved by consensus.
