YARS 7 January 2014 Meeting Explorit Science Center Attending: Officers: Gary Matteson WA6TQJ, Vice-President Rick Littlefield, Secretary Dave Nishikawa KC6YFG, and Treasurer Ben Norman WA6NIK. Members: Rob Brunk N6KIX, Max Butterfield KG6PIX, Steve Dold W6KCS, Bill Ragsdale K6KN, and Robert Schulz KC6UDS. Guests Present: Felipe Godinez KK6HQF, Eric Guenzler KG6BZT, Steve Hartzell W6WBO, Fred Sellstrom W7KOZ, and Steve Sparks KC6MHT. Meeting opened at 1930 hrs. by President Gary Matteson WA6TQJ with self-introductions all around. 5 November 2013 and 3 December 2013 minutes were approved on a motion by Bill Ragsdale K6KN and seconded by Robert Schulz KC6UDS. Motion passed. Treasurer Ben Norman WA6NIK reported a balance of $4.569.35 Old Business: MVRC merger talks discussed. MVRC can manage their 2M repeater for another year. Short timer issue was resolved. No changes reported for UCDARC. Secretary Dave Nishikawa KC6YFG was reimbursed $200.00 for his donation to the Explorit Science Center on behalf of YARS. Robert Schulz KC6UDS reported the the City of Davis had granted Explorit a bridge loan while stable funding is sought. They should be able to continue operations for 6 months. New Business: A discussion on the possible YARS participation in a booth at the Yolo County Fair was tabled on a motion by Vice-President Rick Littlefield N6KLB and seconded by Max Butterfield KG6PIX. Motion passed. The $500 donation from the Davis Bike Club was distributed as follows on a motion by Robert Schulz KC6UDS and seconded by Bob Brunk N6KIX: $200 to MVRC, $100 to BARK, and $200 to YARS. Meeting adjourned 2005 hr. on a motion by Vice-President Rick Littlefield N6KLB and seconded by Robert Schulz KC6UDS. Motion passed. Steve Dold W6KCS gave a program on using the radio coverage mapping program Radio Mobile Online at the www.cplus.org website.
